Session Description - Applying ColdFusion to Bioinformatics
Do you want to use your Cold Fusion knowledge in a new way? This presentation
will provide an introduction to basic bioinformatics for the non-biologist. Cold
Fusion includes functionality which makes it well-suited for bioinformatics
analysis. We will use Cold Fusion to do string manipulation, regular expression
searches, and custom image creation in order to learn basic bioinformatics skills.

Session Description - AJAX in ColdFusion (CF8 Features, AjaxCFC, Firebug)
This session will be focusing on the basics of AJAX. It will include many of the
easy ways to incorporate AJAX into CF Applications using ColdFusion 8 (tabbed
layouts using AJAX, related selects using AJAX, etc...)
This session will also be touching on doing AJAX on a ColdFusion 7 Server. The focus
on this will be how to utilize AjaxCFC, the open source Ajax framework for
ColdFusion, written by Rob Gonda. This will speak to those of us who still work
with 7 and/or need to support 7 with certain clients.
Finally, we will discuss debugging AJAX using Firefox with the Firebug Add-on.
The focus will be on how this can help, how to trace variables, etc... etc...
